INTENSIVE DEPTH therapy

What Is Intensive Depth Therapy?

Intensive depth therapy is a style of long-form, super-focused, psychotherapy that is a blend of psychodynamic and somatic work. Sessions are designed to help you dive deep into a specific issue, pattern, emotional block, or inner conflict that feels stuck or unresolved. Unlike standard weekly therapy, these intensive sessions offer a focused space for meaningful insight, emotional release, and lasting transformation.

Blending psychotherapy modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS) with somatics is what makes this approach different. Each session invites you to move beyond the surface to connect with the deeper layers of your psyche and body. We work with unconscious patterns, protective parts, and the nervous system—bringing compassion, curiosity, and clarity to whatever’s arising.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or navigating a big life transition, Intensive Depth Therapy offers a spacious container to get to the heart of things.

WHAT TO EXPECT

If you’ve tried traditional talk therapy and still found yourself stuck or struggling, or just feel like you didn’t get much out of it, then this approach may be for you.

The title kind of gives it away, but the therapeutic approach used in Intensive Depth Therapy is:

  • Intensive. Session length is two hours, and each session focuses on one specific topic or issue.

  • Depth-focused. We will spend half the session exploring the past, unconscious patterns, and emotional blocks. Then we will spend the second half visioning, integrating, and planning for the future.

  • Somatic. It’s not just about talking and staying in your head, it’s about tuning into your body and processing what you’ve been holding.

This style of therapy is for when you want space—real space—to understand yourself deeply and move forward with clarity.

What it’s like:

We begin with where you are. There is no preparation needed other than to have an idea of what you would like to focus the session on.

In these extended sessions, we spend the first half going inward: exploring your emotional landscape, unconscious patterns, relational history, and the blocks that might be getting in the way. We look at the “why” beneath what’s happening now, drawing from psychotherapy, somatic awareness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

In the second half, we shift focus to what’s next. With greater insight and connection to your inner world, we begin to map out change, whether that’s through intentional action, nervous system regulation, or building new ways of relating to yourself and others. This part is spacious, explorative, and forward-focused.

This approach is:

1. Depth-Oriented
This approach honours the unconscious—the parts of you that you may not fully understand yet. We look at your inner world: patterns, stories, defenses, behavious, and beliefs shaped by your upbringing and relationships. Together, we work to uncover what's been hidden, repressed, or disconnected.

2. Somatic
Your body holds stories your mind can’t always access. We explore physical sensations, tensions, and breath, learning how to soothe your nervous system and create safety in the body.

3. Parts Focused
IFS helps us explore and connect with all the different “parts” of you and to understand their roles. It may be your inner critic, perfectionist, people-pleaser, shutdown one, or angry protector. In this space, we gently unblend from those parts and begin to meet your Self, the real you.

The goal of Intensive Depth Therapy is not to simply give you coping strategies to manage you day-to-day issues, but rather, to help you truly heal on a deep level and experience lasting chnage. It aims to help you understand why you feel the way you do, to befriend your triggers instead of fearing them, to walk through the world with more presence and choice.

This is slow, gentle, embodied work. And it changes everything.

Who Is Intensive Depth Therapy For?

Intensive Depth Therapy is designed for people who want more than just talk. If you’ve tried traditional talk therapy or cognitive approaches like CBT and still feel stuck, this deeper, more embodied way of working may be for you.

This work is for you if:

  • You want something that works with both your mind and body. You're ready to go beyond talking about your feelings and want to actually feel and move through them in a supported way.

  • You tend to overthink and struggle to access your emotions. You often get stuck in your head, disconnected from what you’re truly feeling underneath.

  • You suppress your feelings or needs. You’re great at holding it together, but it’s exhausting—and deep down, you know something needs to shift.

  • You’re repeating painful patterns and can’t figure out why. Whether it’s in relationships, your self-worth, or how you cope, you keep ending up in the same place, despite your best efforts.

  • You’ve done therapy before but want to go deeper. You know the story, you’ve gained insight—but it hasn’t translated into real change or relief.

In these 2-hour sessions, we go deep, we tune into the body and explore the root causes of stuckness, patterns, and emotional pain. Together, we’ll explore the “why,” connect with the parts of you that hold these patterns, and begin to transform them—not just cognitively, but somatically.
